Project Manager
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for project coordination, research, and international cooperation to join our team as a Project Manager.
- Key Responsibilities
- Conduct background research, data collection, and desk reviews for local, international and German public funded projects, and assist in preparing brief market and project analysis notes.
- Identify, research, and monitor potential local and international project opportunities, including donor-funded, development, or commercial projects, and regularly share findings with the Project Department.
- Prepare clear and effective project proposals for identified local and international opportunities, including concept notes, technical inputs, budgets (basic level), and supporting documentation, under guidance.
- Planning, coordinating, and implementing approved projects, including maintaining timelines, task lists, and basic project documentation.
- Budget tracking, maintaining expense records and financial documentation, and ensuring accuracy in line with internal procedures.
- Coordinate communication with internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and following up on action points.
- Prepare progress updates, status reports, presentations, and meeting minutes as required.
- Support the identification of routine project issues or risks and report them promptly to senior department staff.
- Maintain well‑organized and up‑to‑date project records, including project plans, reports, billing support documents, and final documentation.
- Provide general administrative and coordination support to ensure effective day‑to‑day operations of the Project Department.
- Coordinate and lead the AHK Sri Lanka Sector Committee Membership, including stakeholder management, organization and execution of regular internal and external meetings, preparation of position papers, etc.
- Online and offline meetings with (potential) German and Sri Lankan clients, providing consulting and support in market entry and partner search.
- Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, economics, international relations, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in project coordination, administration, internships, or similar roles. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Interest in project development, proposal writing, international cooperation, or donor‑funded projects will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with project management or proposal development tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Asana, MS Excel, Word) is an advantage but not required.
- Required Competencies
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of English, ability to communicate in German is an advantage.
- Good organizational and time‑management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

- Processing invoices and payments
- Supporting monthly financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate documentation and data entry
- Coordinating with internal teams and clients
- Requirements
- AAT Fully Qualified or CA Part Qualified
- Background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software is an advantage
- Ability to work independently
- Previous BPO experience is an added advantage
