In line with our bilateral mandate to foster business opportunities for Sri Lankan and German companies, AHK Sri Lanka organized a diverse range of projects throughout the year.
In addition to initiatives supported by German federal ministries, AHK Sri Lanka collaborates with local and international institutions, organizations, and associations. MEP 2025: Business Initiation for German Companies in the Field of Planning/Consulting/Tourism Services
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) supports German companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in expanding their international presence. As part of the MEP (Markterschließungsprogramm) funding initiative, German business delegations visit target markets worldwide to explore sector-specific business opportunities, establish valuable connections, and engage with potential partners to strengthen their global market position.
The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) promotes sustainable innovations, products, and services on an international scale to support the development of environmentally sustainable infrastructure. The initiative aims to transfer German expertise in GreenTech to enhance global environmental standards and improve living conditions in local communities. Key focus areas include Circular Economy, Water and Wastewater Management, Off-Grid Green Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies, Sustainable Consumption, Mobility, and Sustainable Urban and Regional Development.
Girls’Day is a highly successful initiative from Germany aimed at encouraging young girls to explore careers in industries where women are underrepresented, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), skilled trades, and leadership roles. Established over two decades ago, the program has proven to be a powerful tool in shaping the future workforce by inspiring young talent at an early stage.
