Facilitated by AHK Sri Lanka, Mr. Smajilovic engaged with key Sri Lankan public and private sector stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the local healthcare landscape. High-level discussions were conducted with the Deputy Minister of Health, the Director General of Health Services, the Chairman and CEO of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), and the Chairman of the Board of Investment (BOI). These engagements were further complemented by consultations with private sector representatives and a visit to a medical device manufacturing facility, providing valuable insights into Sri Lanka’s regulatory framework, market dynamics, and investment climate.
The visit underscored GHA’s commitment to fostering long-term partnerships in Sri Lanka and identified tangible business and investment prospects for German companies. Additionally, it opened new avenues for collaboration with Sri Lankan government institutions, particularly in supporting efforts to enhance healthcare services and regulatory processes.
With these promising developments, the visit is expected to serve as a catalyst for future cooperation, contributing to the advancement of healthcare standards and the sustainable growth of the sector in Sri Lanka.
