The Chief Delegate of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka), Mr. Martin Klose, met with Ms. Katharina Wittke, Director for South and Southeast Asia & the Pacific, International Economic Relations at DIHK – the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Hon. Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka, H.E. Varuni Muthukumarana, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Germany, Mr. Sandun Liyanwila, Counsellor, and Mr. Senuja Samaraweera, Counsellor (Commercial) at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin, to advance economic cooperation between Germany and Sri Lanka.
The discussions focused on enhancing the ease of doing business, reducing bureaucratic barriers, and establishing a transparent, efficient framework to attract sustainable investments. Strengthening vocational training cooperation and promoting Sri Lanka as a strategic partner for German industries seeking skilled and reliable global talent were also among the core issues addressed.
Building on these shared priorities, AHK Sri Lanka remains committed to supporting institutional reforms, fostering skills development, and facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships that deepen bilateral economic ties and create long-term opportunities for both nations.
