Since its inception, Top German Brands has been a flagship initiative of AHK Sri Lanka, highlighting the success, innovation, and impact of more than 300 German companies and brands operating in Sri Lanka. The event recognizes their significant contributions across key sectors such as automotive, engineering, logistics, construction, IT, healthcare, tourism, and consumer goods.
Beyond being a showcase of trust, quality, and innovation, the event also serves as a powerful networking hub, creating opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and investment between Germany and Sri Lanka.
The evening commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Martin Klose, Chief Delegate of AHK Sri Lanka, who emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral business ties and highlighted the growing role of German companies in Sri Lanka’s economic development.
Special remarks were delivered by:
- H.E. Dr. Felix Neumann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Sri Lanka and the Maldives,
- Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Treasury, Ministry of Finance & Planning, and
- Hon. Arun Hemachandra, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
- Mr. Niranjan Figurado, Chief Country Officer, Deutsche Bank AG Colombo Branch.
Each highlighted the long-standing partnership between Germany and Sri Lanka, underlining the value of German expertise, technology, and sustainable practices in driving forward mutual growth.
A highlight of the evening was the celebration of anniversaries of several German companies operating in Sri Lanka:
- Deutsche Bank – 45 years
- DHL – 45 years
- B. Braun – 30 years
- Allianz – 20 years
- Linde – 15 years
- Häfele – 15 years
- Robert Bosch – 10 years
The celebration was marked with a champagne toast, recognizing these companies’ long-standing commitment and contributions to Sri Lanka’s economy.
In addition to honoring German brands, AHK Sri Lanka introduced its Premier Partners across Silver, Gold, and Platinum categories, including leading local and international organizations such as Aitken Spence PLC, DIMO, Hayleys Travels, BCS Technology, IWS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, M&M Militzer & Muench (Pvt) Ltd, and many more. This recognition highlighted their collaboration and partnership with AHK Sri Lanka in strengthening bilateral trade and investment.

The Top German Brands 2025 – 11th Edition once again underscored Germany’s role as a long-term and reliable economic partner for Sri Lanka. The event reaffirmed AHK Sri Lanka’s mission of fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth through strong German–Sri Lankan partnerships.
AHK Sri Lanka is part of the German Chamber Network, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). With 150 locations in 93 countries worldwide, the members of the German Chamber Network (AHKs) share their expertise, connections, and services with German and local companies in the respective partner countries. The AHKs are present in all countries of particular importance to German businesses and are closely linked with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IHKs) in Germany.
