Developing Sustainable Sewage Sludge Management for BOI Zones
The Board of Investment (BOI) in Sri Lanka operates various Export Processing Zones (EPZs) across the country. These Special Economic Zones provide companies with tailored infrastructure, specialized services, and business benefits.
To address the challenges of sewage sludge management in these zones, AHK Sri Lanka is working with the specialist German engineering firm engineering4environment GmbH to develop a concept for an environmentally sustainable sewage sludge management system. As part of this initiative, AHK Sri Lanka also organized a delegation trip to Germany, which enabled Sri Lankan stakeholders in the BOI zones to explore best practices, promote research and innovation cooperation, and establish contacts with leading providers of sewage sludge management solutions.
