Girls’Day is a highly successful initiative from Germany aimed at encouraging young girls to explore careers in industries where women are underrepresented, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), skilled trades, and leadership roles. Established over two decades ago, the program has proven to be a powerful tool in shaping the future workforce by inspiring young talent at an early stage.
AHK Sri Lanka is launching Girls’ Day in Sri Lanka to address the disproportionately low representation of women in STEM and leadership careers. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters encouragement and opportunity, equipping young girls with the confidence and exposure they need to pursue these career paths.
For Schoolgirls and Parents
Would you like to explore exciting careers in engineering, software development, logistics or management? Girls’ Day is your chance to try out a cool job, meet inspiring role models, and discover new opportunities—all in a fun and supportive environment!
You will spend half- or full-day at a company together with a group of other amazing girls to explore exciting jobs. Depending on the respective company, you might explore huge warehouses and support in the smooth process of worldwide logistics, have a casual lunch and chitchat with inspiring female leaders or have your own little project with screwdrivers and drills.
You will have the chance to ask any questions and learn about the job and company.
We ensure a safe and fun environment in small – max. 5 to 15 – girls only groups with adequate supervision.
Sounds good? We would be happy to have you onboard.
